Details
Description
Four people sit at the minibar in the cabin of Harry Merlo's boat. The man seated on the right is Herb Doman. The bar is laden with drinking glasses, coffee cups and glass goblets containing bar snacks. Two small yellow candles sit at either corner of the bar. A small vase of flowers sits on the bar in the extreme foreground. Harry Merlo's hands extend into frame from the left edge of the photograph, holding an unidentified object. Harry stands behind the bar facing a recessed section of the bar with a sink and faucet. The recessed section of the bar is laden with a dish towel, a cutting board, a bottle of Irish Cream Liqueur, two coffee pots, a coffee cup, several drinking glasses, a book of matches, and two glasses containing cocktail picks. The slanted, wooden walls of the boat cabin can be seen in the background under a low ceiling with several pot lights. Harry Merlo was an American businessman and philanthropist who was chief executive of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. He also donated funds to the World Forestry Center.
