Note
Page 1 reads: "It is a pleasure to be called upon to say a few words this evening in light of this special occasion, made possible by the [illegible] cooperation that we received from our employees, + management during the year. 10 months of the year is now behind us. There have been good days, and many poor ones. In order to maintain our level of [work?] and employment, they are levels + conditions that [bear?] watching closely. The [illegible] level is one in which we must continue to sell our services in every way possible. In this freely competitive transportation market which lies before us to be [illegible] and remember the customer is always right. The other important level that every employee can participate in altering is our accident frequency. in some traffic accident cases, we, the company and the drivers involved have not been at fault. In other cases both company [illegible] and driver have been judged at fault. A company which wide check of equipment condition has shown that blaming "equipment failure" is not supportable therefore in the majority of accidents it is human failure on behalf of our drivers or the drivers of the other vehicle. ☆ we are to stay competitive in the transport field we must collectively work together to keep our [illegible] accidents down to a min. better still try to aim for a accident free year." Page 2 depicts the same document as page 1, but the captions "394.00 70 55/8115" and "Honoured guest. [illegible]" are visible at the top. Page 3 reads: "If we are to maintain our [exclusivity?] in the transportation field we must work even closer together than we have in the past year. You as a professional [illegible] today have just as much at stake in the industry and that is employment which must be maintained in order to have a level of [illegible]. Thirdly we must all bear in mind that you a a driver control our insurance rate. We have know[sic] control over rates our rates are based on our [illegible] experience and [illegible] company operate the same as ourselves [sic]. They have to show [illegible] and if our losses are high then [their?] rates shall be accordingly to [illegible] our fleet, and on the other hand if you make it a accident free year our rates are loww[sic], and nothing less than this should be our goal. As president of Doman Transport + Doman [illegible] it is very gratifying to see the special award they presented to the drivers [illegible] this evening I would also like to thank mr. M[illegible]patrick for his advice in cooperation [illegible] to make it possible to have these awards. It is our hope that our efforts will inspire other organizations to do likewise on the highway that we share together and form efficient" Page 4 contains most of page 3, but is missing the top few paragraphs. New text on page 4 reads: "link between the manufacturer to the consumers that we service, and is our [illegible] that we try an aggressive safety program. Coupled with the [illegible] of your efforts we will have them [illegible] our part collection in improving our local economy, benefiting not only ourselves but others in providing employment opportunities"
