Narrative of an interview with Amrao Singh Bains. Amrao Singh Bains was born on June 8th, 1920. His grandfather, Briam Singh Bains, was the first person to visit Canada from his family in the year 1907. Briam Singh used to live and work in farms of Chilliwack. In 1923, Amrao's uncle came to Canada with the help of sponsorship which was sent by his grandfather. Amrao Singh and his brother Bakshish Singh came to Canada on a plane in the year 1959. He and his brother came here to work and saw the pay difference between farm work and millwork.
