Police Martyrs' Day or Police Commemoration Day is observed on the 21st of October every year in India. It is considered to be one of the Martyr's Days (Shahadat Diwas). It commemorates the sacrifices of ten policemen who sacrificed their life while defending India's borders against China in 1959.

Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth out of tenth guru, and is considered to be the second Sikh martyr executed by the Mughal rulers.

Officially registered as the Hindu Cultural Society and Community Centre of B.C., the Hindu Temple of Burnaby, previously known as Vishva Hindu Parishad temple, stands as one of Canada's oldest and largest Hindu temples. It was founded on May 15, 1972 as a small prayer hall in North Burnaby, dedicated to preserving and promoting Hindu culture and traditions.
