Newspaper clipping entitled, "Compete in City Soccer League." Clipping includes a group photo of Sohan Singh Labh and other members of the Punjab United East Indian soccer team. Labh is in the back row, third from the left in the photo. The caption on the newspaper reads "Unique in city soccer circles is Punjab United East Indian soccer team which plays exhibition games in the Lower Island Junior and Juvenile Association's junior division. Group of Sikh men in front of Sikh temple in Shanghai, China. The caption of the photograph reads "Shahidi Jatha from Canada and Shanghai to Jaito." The Shahidi Jatha groups were groups of dedicated Sikh men who went to Jaito via Shanghai to protest the colonial British government in India. In the photograph, the Sikh men are seen wearing garlands made out of marigold flowers to symbolize their dedication and willingness to fight until death. Some fighters were sent to convent colonies if captured. A group of men from Vancouver, Canada was sent along with this group to support the effort. There is a building visible in the back that has Sikh Temple Shanghai written on it.
