The event was scheduled for 23rd November, 2011 at the Centre of the Indo-Canadian Studies. The first half of the event includes a lecture/demonstration followed by the second half featuring the performances of the famous South Asian musicians, both belonging from well-known families of musicians.

Aditya Verma is a sarod, sitar and tabla player from Montreal, Quebec. He was first trained in the tabla by his father, Dr. Narendra Verma, and Ustad Zakir Hussain. in 1987, Aditya moved to India where he studied North Indian classical music in the tradition of the Maihar Senia Gharana (school). He has also studied under the sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar and the sarod players Ustad Aashish Khan and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Uwe Neumann is a jazz guitarist and sitar player. He is a student of sitar maestro Pandit Indranil Bhattacharya. He spent 10 years living and studying in India, and is currently based in Canada. Jonathan Voyer is a Hindustani classical vocalist currently based in Montreal, Canada. He has studied under Pandit Satish Vyas, Pandit Somanath Mardur, and Anita Louise Yard. Shawn Mativetsky is a tabla player currently based in Montreal, Canada. He is a disciple of Pandit Sharda Sahai. He also teaches tabla at McGill University. Subir Dev is a tabla player and member of Duniya Project. He was born in Bangladesh and later moved to Montreal, Canada. He studied North Indian classical music under Dr. Narendra Verma and now provides instrumental accompaniment to many artists from India.

Solo Razafindrakoto, or Solorazaf, is a Malagasy guitarist born in France. Stree Shakti, meaning "Women Power", is an all-female Indian Classical music band. It was founded by Anuradha Pal in 1996. Anuradha Pal is a tabla player. She was born in the city of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India.

Irshad Khan is a sitar and surbahar player and vocalist based in Mississauga, Ontario. Considered a child prodigy, Khan has been performing publicly since the age of 7. He is also the founder/president of the Universal Academy for Musicians. In addition to actively performing, he also conducts workshops, lectures and master classes in various educational institutions. Hindol Majumdar is a tabla player. He began learning tabla at the age of 5 and had his first performance at the age of 10. He has since collaborated with world music percussionists like Doyra player Abbos Kosimov, four time Grammy award winner Glenn Velez, and world renowned Mridangam exponent Legendary Trichy Sankaran. He also founded the Hindole Majumdar School of Music and Dance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in USA where he teaches Tabla and Indian Rhythm.

As a teenager, she studied Carnatic violin in India. She is also a faculty lecturer in the Family Medicine department of McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Saravanan Sundararajan is a mridangam player and bharatanatyam dancer. He is a member of the Kala Bharati dance school.

He initially learned tabla from his father Dattatrey Talwalkar before training under tabla players Pandharinath Nageshkar, Vinayakrao Ghangrekar and Ramdutt Patil. He also studied the rhythm theory of Carnatic music and Hindustani classical singing. In 2001, the title of TaalYogi was conferred upon him by Bharathi Tirtha. Sudhir Nayak is a reed organist. He was born on May 15 1972 in the city of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. He is a disciple of Pandit Tulsidas Borkar and Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki.
